Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the only girl from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with 4 brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter in her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials when she moved to New York. In her teens, her first role as an actress came in the soap opera All My Children. Her career as an actor has been awash by a myriad of TV films and dramas. Contrary to her impressive professional career, Delaney's personal one is not as successful and happy. The actress, who is skilled and gorgeous, has struggled with alcoholism prior to that. Her marriages have also failed two times. In 2005, she was denied custody of the only child she was born with.
