Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she continued to upload her music via the internet, including her self release single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. Later that year her music began to circulate throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. The news was released on the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018, she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then on November 13 two new singles, titled No One and pedigree. She appeared with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and released the song as a single by herself for the album she released her debut. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within one week, it had over 3 million views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
